Return to the Wilson River

Back in May, Col and I did an overnight trip where we walked up the Wilson River Valley and packrafted back down the river. After my sister Clare saw the video she decided it was a trip she too wanted to do, so in October 2022 she and I headed back in.

The walk in was very much the same as during my previous trip with Col, and Clare was impressed with the Gian trees we encountered, particularly the Huons.

We had originally hoped to go slightly further up the valley than Col and I had last time, but ultimately decided to take it easy and camp at the same spot.

However, the following day we we set off down the river we paddled on a bit further to the Wilson River Bridge on the Pieman Road, which made for a slightly easier exit as we could get the car to the river edge here to pack up.
