Hi.

This site is an account of my travels. I hope you find it useful.

Quamby Bluff

Quamby Bluff

Col and I hiked Quamby Bluff in northern Tasmania on Saturday the 1st of May 2021 in perfect conditions. The return trip is about 8km, which we did in 3½ hours, including a lunch break — although the TasTrails guide says the walk take 4-5hrs, so we may have been aided by the weather.

The Walk

The walk starts on a dirt road before entering a forrest with a steady, but reasonably gentle, incline.

After about 2km there is a scree field that needs to be climbed, however this is only about 200 metres wide until the forest is re-entered, although the climb is much steeper for much of this (with some sections of more level zig-zag).

The final climb is a little steeper, before entering a large summit plateau that is crossed to reach the trig point.
