Mt Victoria
Col and I hiked Mt Victoria in north-east Tasmania on Friday 28 May 2021 in sunny, but cool, conditions. The return trip takes about 3 hrs (we didn’t stop for much of a break on the summit as it was pretty chilly).
Location
The start of the walk is off Mount Albert Road (near Mathinna):
Track Notes
The walk starts reasonably flat, initially in some scrub just off the road, and then enters a forest area where you start to climb (with a bit of mud to get through right near the start).
After exiting the forest there is lower level scrub before a boulder field is reached. After scrambling over the boulders there is more scrub, before a final climb up to the trig point.
The track is reasonably well marked with tape and cairns, with a mostly clear pad to follow.
